Regional Agency for Creative Initiatives is a non-profit organization based in Yaroslavl, Russia with the mission: to create a varied cultural space within the city, where creative initiatives and artistic innovation are encouraged. To do this, we develop cultural industries and accumulate creative initiatives in different arts projects. The organization was founded in 2006 and unites artists and art managers interested in contemporary art.
Goals 1. Research an exchange and interaction between a city and citizens through arts projects. 2. A conversion of city space and citizen attitude and behavior by cultural projects. 3. Research the theme of cultural identity through intercultural projects: a map of a personality on the map of a city and a world map. 4. A revealing a new feature in the city image: Yaroslavl is not only an ancient provincial city of a Golden Ring, but a modern, open and popular territory working in an international context.
Download presentation RACI.pdf The main project An annual contemporary arts festival “ARCHITECTURE OF MOVEMENT” focuses on interaction between our body, movements and city environment, architecture around us.
By means of the festival we aim to unite different creative initiatives in the frameworks of public art project (dance, architecture, photography, video, etc.) and change a city space and a perception of it through different art movements and actions (exhibitions in empty locations (ex-shop), performances in shop center, video showing and performances in underground car parking, etc.).
